Injection with botulinum toxin. How does it work?
Botulinum toxin injection is one of the most famous aesthetic treatments, and at the same time one of the most controversial and often misunderstood.
Botox injections are a simple, non-surgical treatment that temporarily reduces or eliminates moderate to severe frown lines, forehead expression lines, crow’s feet lines around the eyes.
The only one approved in Romania, the treatment with VISTABEL, a botulinum toxin type A, works by blocking the nerve impulses directed to the muscles where it was injected, preventing muscle contraction and leading to a temporary and reversible “paralysis”.
Thus, by decreasing the activity of the muscles, the appearance of these lines of expression is reduced. For example, improvement in the appearance of wrinkles between the eyebrows generally occurs within a week after treatment, with the maximum effect being seen 5 – 6 weeks after injection, and lasting an average of 4 months after treatment.
The results of the treatments depend on your health, sex, age, etc., and may be different from person to person.
