Organic tanning

Do you want a healthy tan, with an uniform, intense color that offers both an exotic look and a radiant skin? Our professional organic tanning service is the answer for you: an “artificial” tan that is 100% safe, without the side effects of sun or indoor tanning (sunbed or tanning booth) exposure.

Applied by one of the AVRA therapists, the organic tanning lotion based on DHA (Dihydroxyaceatone) will be evenly distributed on the skin, the result being a perfect tan, without spots or stripes, with a natural shade.

By choosing the organic tanning procedure, with high-performance professional substances, you will avoid the risks associated with sun exposure: skin aging, wrinkles or other skin health problems. Moreover, any potential burns you may get because of intense sun or UV sunbed exposure are completely avoided.

At the moment, organic tanning is the only 100% safe tanning solution. You can choose it in any season, either for a long-lasting tan or the instant effect before an event or a photo shoot.

The results are visible for any skin type, so that even the palest complexion can get the perfect tan in just 3 steps:

  1. Exfoliation – Before the organic tanning session it is recommended that the skin is exfoliated. An energetic mechanical peeling, performed at home, one day before organic tanning is recommended.
  2. Spraying – The therapist will spray the organic tanning lotion on the whole body, using a device a special device that resembles a pistol. The organic tanning solution based on DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) will adhere to the skin instantly, and the final effect of tanning will be visible about 8 hours after spraying.
  3. Completion – After applying the lotion, the therapist will use the special pistol to dry it. At the end of the organic tanning session, you will be able to dress without a problem, because the solution will be completely dry and it will not stain the clothes. The professional lotion used by spraying in the organic tanning procedure contains a special formula, which immediately penetrates the skin. You will never feel  your skin greasy or sticky –  an unpleasent effect that is so common with at home self-tanning creams. The formula of the organic tanning lotion DHA will seem truly magical, its spread on the body being uniform, without forming spots or stripes. In addition, it provides an enviable glow to the skin, and in the long rong, it has anti-aging

What does the organic tanning solution contain and how does it work?

DHA is the main ingredient in our organic tanning solutions – a ketosis that comes in contact with the first layer of the cells in the epidermis. The interaction between DHA and the amino acids on the surface of the skin generates the coloration of the first layer of cells, thus obtaining the “delicious” chocolate color of the bronze.

DHA-based organic tanning lotion provides an enviable level of in-detail coverage. You no longer have to be afraid of spots or colored stripes, because the risk of their appearance is practically non-existent. Moreover, the color looks natural, like a tan in the sun, avoiding the drying and dehydrating effect that sun exposure has on the sking.

The formula of this lotion represents an excellent balance between the ingredients of organic tanning and castor oil, that is well known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties of the skin, giving it an enviable glow. The smell is slightly caramelized, pleasant and delicate.

The organic tanning lotion used at AVRA Aesthetic Institute has a balanced pH, ensuring color uniformity. In the formula we use, the concentration of DHA is carefully analyzed in the laboratory to determine exactly the percentage needed to color the skin without damaging the epidermis in any way, without drying the skin or leaving spots.

Frequent questions

How long does the organic tanning session last and when do you see the results?

The organic tanning session with DHA lasts about 10-15 minutes. The dark color of the bronze does not appear immediately, but after an hour. The final tan is visible after 8-24 hours. A beautiful and long-lasting tan must be maintained by repeating the procedure, a session once a week.

What are the risks and precautions?

The organic tanning procedure with DHA does not use UV rays, and it has been shown that this type of artificial tanning is less toxic to the body than… aspirin, caffeine and table salt. The risks are minimal and the results are guaranteed. It should be noted, however, that tanning with DHA does not protect the skin from UV rays. Even if the skin gets a certain degree of tan, it can burn in the sun as easily as white, untanned skin. Therefore, the skin should continue to be protected with lotions with a higher or lower degree of SPF, depending on the skin type.

What does the bronze obtained look like?

The original tan is dark brown (also called “Jamaican bronze”), due to the action of the tanner. After the bath, a golden tan will remain.

Will the bronze be orange?

There is no such risk, the tanning technique has evolved a lot in recent years. We have chosen for the clients of AVRA Aesthetic Institute the most advanced tanning method on the market, with natural results.

Are there any risks?

This is a process based on a tested cosmetic product, which uses organic tanning components. By avoiding the harmful action of UV rays, this is a healthy alternative to sun exposure.

How often should the procedure be repeated?

The frequency of application depends on individual preferences and results. For some people, a weekly visit to the beauty institute is enough, while others prefer more visits to get a stronger tan. Specialists recommend two, three initial visits in the first week, followed by a frequency of once or twice a week to maintain intense tan.

Is it recommended to apply it twice for the first time, for a more intense color?

If it is the first organic tanning procedure based on DHA, it is not recommended to overdo it, to avoid an allergic reaction. The recommendation is to have at least a few hours between sessions.

Can I have allergic reactions?

If the skin is very sensitive or allergic to self-tanning products, there is a risk of side effects. If you know that you have such problems, it would be good to ask your doctor before trying the procedure.

What happens if I inhale this substance?

Although there is nothing harmful in the formula for organic tanning to cause problems, the recommendation is to hold your breath during the process, when there is a possibility of inhalation.

What do I do if it gets in my eyes?

It is recommended to keep your eyes closed during the tanning process, even if the risk of irritation is minimal.

How do I do with my hair?

The substances are not absorbed into the hair and do not discolor/ color it, so wearing a protective helmet is optional.

Can it stain clothes?

As with any other coloring cosmetic, it can be transferred to clothes. In most cases, stains on clothes come out to be washed. The most likely time when clothes can stain is immediately after applying the product. Our procedure offers the optimal time for drying and minimizing the possibility of transfer, but we recommend wearing loose, dark colored clothes.

  • Exfoliate the skin the day before AVRA programming. Insist on areas with rough skin, such as knees, elbows, wrists and soles; an energetic mechanical peel is recommended, applied on all areas of the body, including the face.
  • Take a shower before the organic tanning session; do not use emollient shower gel or emollient body lotions on the day of applying the organic tanning solution, as this influences the final result;
  • Before the organic tanning session, the skin must be perfectly dry; at the facial level, a deep make-up removal is required before the organic tanning session;
  • We recommend that the clothes you wear when visiting AVRA Aesthetic institute on the day of tanning be dark, comfortable and slightly wider;
  • We recommend waxing/epilating before at least one day, to give the pores the opportunity to close, or after the tan has disappeared;
  • Do not use deodorant or perfume before the organic tanning session or during the working phase of the active substances in its composition (8 hours after the procedure).
  • Immediately after applying the tanning lotion, the skin should be allowed to dry completely, and the AVRA therapist will make sure of this. As a precaution, we recommend that you do not wet your skin for at least 8 hours after the end of the organic tanning session (for example, postpone the shower for the next morning);
  • It is not recommended to wear underwear that is tight on the body before / after the first shower (at least 8 hours after the application session);
  • We recommend that between the application stage of the tanning lotion and the shower you do not make physical effort, sports activities, sauna (do not sweat excessively), swimming.
  • Don’t worry if some of the tanning lotion is “taken off” during the shower – this is a normal stage in the tanning process. The skin will continue to tan until 8 hours after the end of the organic tanning session;
  • Use emollient body lotion twice a day after taking a shower. This reduces the exfoliation rate of the skin, and the tan will last longer;
    If you want to keep the color as long as possible, avoid prolonged baths, thermal treatments and swimming for too long. It is also recommended to avoid exfoliating products for skin, massage, UCW. Electrostimulation has no contraindications, with the recommendation that after the electrostimulation session to apply moisturizers, and not creams with thermal effect;
  • Tanning takes place gradually. Lighter skin tans more slowly, requiring more sessions for a more accentuated pigmentation. The second session can be done the very next day, but without applying the body peel before. You can do several sessions in a week, until you get the desired shade of bronze. The cells of the epidermis regenerate once every 7-9 days, at which time it is indicated to perform a new energetic peel to remove dead cells, then you can schedule a new organic tanning session.
  • Contraindications:
    • Psoriasis, eczema, open wounds;
    • In case of pregnancy – it is good to consult a doctor before application. There are no studies showing that organic tanning can harm pregnancy, but in the absence of extensive studies we do not recommend the procedure for pregnant women. There is also a risk of uneven pigmentation/ staining of the skin.
    • There is no information to attest to the risks for diabetes, but to prevent any problems it is necessary to consult a specialist.
